Bobbi Brown Products/My Face Routine

Bobbi Brown

I have been a huge fan of Bobbi Brown for a couple of years now. Her products are high quality and definitely live up to their $ value.  Sure, $45 is a bit expensive for foundation but it's definitely well worth it.  The thing about Bobbi Brown that separates them from other makeup brands is that the idea of makeup just being an accent to your beauty is their mantra.  Don't get me wrong, I love Urban Decay/Nars/Makeup Forever/Mac (sometimes) but they cater to more fun looks. I'm a huge fan of their gel liners and shimmer bricks but I mostly use Bobbi B for the foundation/concealer/powder. This is due to the fact that I have HORRIBLE skin...acne scarring, oiliness, the occasional dryness from acne treatment, dark spots, redness, etc.  My skin is pretty beat up.  I've tried several brands of makeup anywhere from drug stores to department store stuff like Estee Lauder & Mac and NOTHING satisfied me completely.  Either it was too heavy, too light, too pink, too shiny but Bobbi Brown did it for me.  I have been using their Oil Free Even Finish Foundation for a while now and I definitely recommend it but it seems like they are discontinuing it and are replacing it with Skin Foundation SPF 15.  So anyway the reasons why Bobbi Brown works for me is because the colors are yellow based hence making it more natural on skin, great coverage but feels light on face, a little goes a long way and it stays on ALL DAY.

Bobbi Brown Face Routine
  1. After moisturizing and priming my face I put on the corrector underneath my eye. This corrector is great for people with under eye circles because its a peachy color and that balances out the darkness from veins underneath the eye.  I apply this with a concealer brush and blend it out with my ring finger.
  2. I then apply my concealer on all imperfections as well as on top of the corrector.  I do the same as I did w/ corrector, I apply with concealer brush and then blend it out. The concealer I use is the Concealer Kit it comes with the concealer on top and it has a bottom portion that has loose powder in it.  I apply the loose powder once I have finished the foundation. Some people do this step after they have applied foundation. I recommend which ever tactic works best for you.
  3. Once I finish that up... it is time for foundation. Ok so both formulas spread easily and a little definitely goes a long way. The Skin Foundation must be shaken very well before use!!  I learned that the hard way. :( Anyway, I like to apply my foundation with a Mac 187 brush or with a foundation brush.  I also like to put the product on my hand before I apply it just because its less messy and the warmth of your hands lets the product stick to your skin better!!
  4. Okay so now for the last step: POWDER!! Powder sets all of your concealer and foundation. What I really like about this powder is that its really light and yet it provides another step of overage.  It leaves your face looking flawless. I love this powder so much! It's a must have!
